AMBUCS History

The first American Business Club was established in 1922, and since then AMBUCS has grown to a network of civic clubs, each dedicated to promoting a better personal and community life for its members. National in scope, AMBUCS now has clubs in many states across the USA. The headquarters of National AMBUCS is located in High Point, North Carolina, and is under the supervision of a professional Executive Director.

AMBUCS is a non-political, non-sectarian organization and represents the highest standards of excellence in the promotion of civic betterment and benevolence. AMBUCS is dedicated to the idea that every responsible individual owes something to the community in which they live.

Enid Noon American Business Club (AMBUCS) Chapter - Founded 1926

The birth of the Enid Chapter of the American Business Club was on November 26, 1926 and the charter banquet was held in the Oxford Hotel with thirty charter members present. The late Dave Bucher was elected the first president. Congressman M. C. Garber delivered the principal address. Enid was the second Chapter of American Business Clubs in the State of Oklahoma, and one year later the Enid Chapter chartered the Ponca City Chapter. From that auspicious beginning the Enid Chapter has gone places and done things which constitute one of the most thrilling success stories in the realm of civic service.
