What is AMBUCS ?

. . . is a national non-profit charitable association of community service clubs dedicated to creating independence for people with disabilities.

. . . is the largest single provider specializing in scholarships for therapists. Over 10,000 educational grants totaling more than $5 million have been awarded to students in financial need studying physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and hearing audiology.

. . . manufactures and distributes the AmTryke, a specially designed therapeutic tricycle for children with disabilities. AmTrykes build self-esteem, assist with muscle development, improve coordination and give children the freedom of movement.

... By involving concerned, committed and creative volunteers from high school students to senior citizens. These motivated members find innovative ways to raise money in order to perform projects such as:

● Providing AmTrykes and other needed equipment for rehabilitation units, clinics and hospitals

● Building accessible playgrounds for children with disabilities

● Building wheelchair ramps for local citizens.

● Providing recreational activities for people with disabilities.

● Installing grab handlebars in local citizens' homes, the Before the Fall program.
